A week of firsts for Sarah!

This week was a big one for little miss Sarah. She's accomplished a lot! She:

--learned to hold her bottle and feed herself;
--started rocking back and forth on her arms and legs; and
--started holding out her arms for her Mommy! (my favorite).

She also took her first big girl ride in a shopping cart.

It's funny how kids will all of a sudden start doing all sorts of things.

In other Heppe news, Michael just got back from his annual snowmobile trip to Michigan. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate so he didn't get to ride as much as usual. Then of COURSE the day he left Michigan they got 4 inches of snow!!

I had my hours cut back at work (temporarily) so I've taken a second job at a children's consignment shop called Tadpoles. It's great! I usually only work weekends and I won't ever work past 8pm. AND I have first choice of baby clothes that come in! How perfect! Even when I go back full time at my regular job I'm going to keep the part time job so we can save some money.

Ok, so I'm finally posting a Christmas video of Sarah. I know, I'm slow :)

Sarah and I are on our own this week. Michael is on his annual snowmobile trip in Michigan. I was stressed out about it before he left, but so far things have been going pretty well. Sarah was a good girl all weekend. She hardly fussed, and she slept very well!!! I hope she keeps it up until Michael gets home on Saturday.

Here are some new pictures.

Krispy Kreme Bread Pudding

A friend of mine posted this recipe on Facebook and it sounds soooooo good. But I think you'd go into sugar shock after eating it.

I'm sure you guys in Vicksburg could make it with Shipley's. mmmm....

KRISPY KREME BREAD PUDDING

2 dozen Krispy Kreme donuts
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk (not evaporated)
2 (4.5-ounce) cans fruit cocktail (undrained)
2 eggs, beaten
1 (9-ounce) box raisins (can leave out if desired)
1 pinch salt
1 or 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
Butter Rum Sauce, recipe follows

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cube donuts into a large bowl. Pour other ingredients on top of donuts and let soak for a few minutes. Mix all ingredients together until donuts have soaked up the liquid as much as possible.

Bake for about 1 hour until center has jelled. Top with Butter Rum Sauce.

Butter Rum Sauce:
1 stick butter
1 pound box confectioners' sugar
Rum, to taste

Melt butter slowly and add the other ingredients.

Pure, unforgivable sin.

First Blog

Hi Everyone!

I'm taking my friend Tracy's advice. I am going to try to start a weekly blog about life. I want a record of Sarah growing up, what's going on with Michael and me, etc. I started a website on freewebs, but because of HORRIBLE technical problems with their site, I'm going to move to this site. I'll still post pictures, but I'm going to try to keep a running commentary, too.

Also, feel free to comment on anything I write. I WELCOME it!! In fact, the more feedback the better!

Love to all :)
